Fact Detective is operated by Milo Wiseman as an educational claim-checking project. By requesting an access code or using the service, you agree to these terms.
1. Educational purpose
The service uses artificial intelligence and web sources to help users investigate claims. Findings are not guaranteed facts and are not professional medical, legal, financial or safety advice. Users should open the cited sources and apply their own judgement.
2. Access and acceptable use
- Use an email address that you are authorised to access.
- Do not attempt to bypass access controls, overload the service, automate excessive requests or interfere with another user.
- Do not submit unlawful, abusive or deliberately harmful material.
3. Email verification and sessions
Verification codes are single-use and expire after 10 minutes. Guest sessions last 10 minutes. Milo’s Master session remains active until logout, cookie removal or administrative revocation. Attempt limits and temporary cooldowns protect the service from misuse.
4. Privacy information
Your email address is used to send the access code, identify the Master account and create the signed login session. Verification codes are stored only as protected digests in temporary server memory and are removed after use or expiry. Temporary request and attempt information is also held in memory for security and rate limiting.
Email delivery is handled through Mailjet. Claims, follow-up questions and relevant investigation context are sent to OpenAI to generate responses. If you request a report, its contents and recipient address are sent through Mailjet. Do not submit unnecessary personal or confidential information.
You may request information about, correction of or deletion of personal data by contacting the project operator using the contact details supplied with the programme. You may also raise data-protection concerns with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
5. Intellectual property
The application’s original design, branding, text and software are © 2026 Milo Wiseman. All rights reserved. Third-party source material, linked websites, software packages and generated content remain subject to their respective rights and licences. You may use an exported report for personal educational purposes, but may not misrepresent its authorship or remove notices.
6. Availability and responsibility
The service may change, pause or stop without notice. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not responsible for losses caused by relying on an AI assessment, unavailable services, third-party content or unauthorised use. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.
7. Changes and governing law
These terms may be updated as the project develops. The current version will be displayed here. Unless another law must apply, these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
